Expression of Interest: Metalworks Artist for the AWG 2020 Cauldron

The Whitehorse 2020 Arctic Winter Games Host Society invites an Expression of Interest for a metalworks artist to make the Cauldron for the 2020 Arctic Winter Games.

The 2020 Arctic Winter Games will be staged in Whitehorse, Yukon on March 15 – 21, 2020 and will welcome Teams from Alaska, Northwest Territories, Nunavut, Northern Alberta, Nunavik, Greenland, Russia and Yukon.

The Cauldron is to be lit at the opening ceremony of the Arctic Winter Games 2020 and to be featured as part of the Games throughout the week. The Cauldron will then become a permanent art piece displayed somewhere in the City of Whitehorse.

Interested artists with experience working with metal are invited to send their submission for consideration. Submission includes:

  • curriculum vitae
  • portfolio
  • short description of the cauldron they would create

The Artist will work with the Host Society to design the Cauldron for  the Ceremonies and will be responsible for the execution of the cauldron within timeline and budget requirements. The Artist will be remunerated and collaborations are welcome.
