Participants in the Whitehorse 2020 Arctic Winter Games (AWG) will sleep easier thanks in part to Manitoulin Transport.
As a Gold Sponsor, Manitoulin provided shipping assistance for the AWG, transporting beds from the 2018 Games in Hay River, Northwest Territories, to storage facilities in Whitehorse.
“The beds that we secured from the 2018 Arctic Winter Games are an integral piece of Athletes Services for 2020,” said George Arcand, President of the 2020 AWG Host Society. “It’s a lot of work to get those beds loaded up into the containers, transferred thousands of kilometres to Whitehorse, and then loaded into storage containers here. Having Manitoulin on board as a major sponsor proved to be a huge asset.”
The beds transported by Manitoulin will eventually be set up in Whitehorse schools, where participants will be housed during the 2020 AWG.
“After partnering with the 2018 Arctic Winter Games in South Slave, we are excited to again be on board with the Arctic Winter Games 2020 in Whitehorse,” said Rob Eskens, Manitoulin Transport’s vice president of sales for Western Canada. “We are happy to provide shipping sponsorship and expertise to the Games.”
