The Whitehorse 2020 Arctic Winter Games (AWG) secured their first Platinum Sponsor Thursday, with Northern Vision Development LP (NVD) set to showcase their hospitality next March.
As a Platinum Sponsor, NVD is contributing nearly $200,000 of in-kind services to the AWG. This includes office space for the 2020 AWG Host Society, leading up to and during the Games. The AWG office is located in NVD Place on 4th Avenue, across from Qwanlin Mall.
“From the moment Whitehorse was confirmed as host of the 2020 Arctic Winter Games, NVD has been an engaged partner,” said George Arcand, President of the 2020 AWG Host Society. “They put the finishing touches on a large, new office space to accommodate all of our staff and planning volunteers in the year leading up to the Games, and offered up their meeting rooms at local hotels for our use. They’ve gone above and beyond in providing additional in-kind items as well, to ensure the success of AWG 2020.”
NVD will also provide hospitality suites at their properties during AWG 2020, promotional signage at the Games office, and advertising opportunities. Members of the AWG International Committee, AWG 2020 Mission Staff, and special guests of the Games will be staying in NVD hotels.
“Since we have operated In Whitehorse, we have been Incredibly Impressed with the efforts of the volunteer community to bring outstanding events to our city,” said Rich Thompson, NVD CEO. “It Is our pleasure to make a contribution to these efforts and to play our small part.”
NVD owns and operates five hotels in the Yukon, including the Best Western Gold Rush Inn, Coast High Country Inn, and the Edgewater Hotel in Whitehorse. They also own several commercial properties, including NVD Place.
The 2020 Arctic Winter Games will be held March 15 to 21, 2020 in Whitehorse.
